Sip & Style at Pier One 💛 Colour Corner hosted the colour analysis booth with Simmy @colourhappystyle next to Amy @amychanhairmakeup and Simone @oro_fashionhouse. The night was about so much more than beauty. Over $16,000 was raised for @cancercouncilnsw. Every raffle ticket, every auction bid, every glass raised mattered. Grateful to play a small part in a night that blended style, community and something far bigger than all of us!

The same shade can suddenly work when it’s glossy instead of matte or fail when it’s too flat or too metallic. ✨ Leveling Up with Cert II in Retail Cosmetics Before starting Colour Corner, I worked as a UX/UI designer—so colour theory has always been a big part of what I do 🎨 At the end of last year, I finished my Cert II in Retail Cosmetics to bring that colour knowledge into the world of beauty. It was such a shift going from designing services, apps and websites to working on real faces! 🖤 vs 💙 — What’s the difference? At first glance, both colours feel simple and classic. But if you look closely, black can come off a little harsh—especially against skin tones that are light, cool or soft in contrast. Here’s why: 🖤 Black is the darkest value on the spectrum. It has no undertone and creates sharp contrast, which can overpower features that are naturally subtle or low-contrast. 💙 Navy on the other hand, still offers depth—but it’s gentler on the face.
